Essay planning, first ideas
This is my first set of planning done for my essay due on the 25th. This was written before a small section of the class went over it with Justin on the 13th to make sure we knew what was happening. After that I need a slight rethink after finding out more from Justin, but aside from that I'll likely keep the same basic structure.
Essay notes from Justin
Essay notes from Justin
These are the notes I took when Justin explained how to approach essay and what hes looking for. The main things this helped me with and made me realise is that I need to include the Macro-elements as well as the Micro-elements, and that I should reference both and link them throughout the essay. I also got reminded that the Referencing system is called the Harvard Referencing system, not the Oxford system as I have referred to it before on this blog due to memory lapse.
Audio/Visual Scripts first draft
This was the first version of the first half of the documentary. I made a second version of which I prefer. I didn't like this one as it seemed to move too slow with not enough things going on to draw the attention of the audience. While the narration seemed like a good idea, I felt it would have more impact later. It ultimately chose the other as it shows more than this tells.
This is the second version of the first half. I picked this one as the quick cutting between the interview confessions has more of an impact on the audience and introduces the topic much more. Also doing this during a black screen takes away the concept of individuality, emphasising community. It saves more of the visual elements until later.
The final half I feel has more symbolism and hidden meaning as it transitions from city to nature, giving the impression that what the audience is hearing is natural. Also it doesn't just cut off, instead having an ending with the closing title.
Overall I feel that this first version of this Audio/Visual script is a good start, although is laking full scripting of the spoken audio sections. Thus it is only a draft.
